Preah Khan was the first temple we visited and also our agreed upon favorite. We choose to see this temple because our guidebook said that the temple had been overgrown with trees, which was what I was most excited to see. Something about the old ruins being taken over by nature fascinates me.
Bayon is a temple you can’t miss! The temple is located within the center of Angkor Thom. Here you will get to see the four enormous stone faces of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. Throughout the temple are over 2000 faces carved in stone.
The Old Market is an indoor market, meaning that it has a roof, but there aren’t exterior walls and there is no air conditioning. Inside the market are seemingly hundreds of shops and vendors. You can find just about anything you want there from hammocks, to women’s clothing, to tapestries, to spices and food, and even housewares.
